Epic LT Aircraft with a Pratt and Whitney 1200HP PT6A-67A Engine Walk Around
Had the honor of helping out with removing and replacing the all-carbon fiber upper and lower cowl of this all-carbon fiber aircraft. Since we got the cowls off I wanted to show you what a 1200HP Pratt and Whitney turbine fan engine looks like.
The Epic can reach speeds over 333 knots in a single-engine aircraft. And the thrill of a 4,000-feet-per-minute climb out. But that's the power of a 1200-horsepower Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67A engine on an optimally designed all-composite Epic airframe. Delivering speeds faster than any single-engine turboprop on the market. And performance that rivals most business jets, without jet-class costs.

    Hi Martin, I've got the 3 wire solenoid on my 04 & from what I've been reading it seems im out of luck on this mod. I have 2 questions about it though: do you know how to get the 3 wire solenoid out & if so could i just put a modded 2 wire solenoid in its place? Or if this won't work could i put a variable resistance switch in line with the coolant temp sensor signal wire to vary the voltage the ecu sees to up the fan rpm?

    I watched your video, then looked at my rear end. I was thinking how do you have such great access to your cover!? Did you take the tank or tank protection off? Then I watch it again. You must have put your jack stands on the frame so that the axle would hang down creating more access to the diff cover bolts! Thanks for the great vid!! Question: Which WJ do you think is the best one? 2008? Trim? Runner up? You could do a video on this!!

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt 5 днів тому

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt 5 днів тому

      Yeah mine are OEM I had higher confidence in the OEM part than I do the aftermarket ones. But the ones you did get are still directing the oil toward the cam lobe instead of just hitting the top of the valve cover and splashing everywhere.

    • @GasHeadsModshop
      @GasHeadsModshop 4 дні тому

      @@martinbuilt I have always had a good run with Mellings in the past. I know they cost more but you get what you pay for. Just like the timing set. The quality of this set compared to a generic brand before is noticeably different. I also purchased the professional set. This set is made from Hardened steel and I think only Mellings do a set like that. Other sets are made from powdered steel. They mix different grades of metal powder and heat those up and press them into shape. A much faster and cheaper way of production. Hardened steel is made from a solid piece of steel and then hardened and tempered. I just hope the roller chain will hold up better than the link chain. Rik

    • @martinbuilt

      Yes the lash adjuster is holding on to the rocker arm. This is why it's important to have good lash adjusters if a lash adjuster collapses the rocker arm could come out. In my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee I run solid last adjusters and I don't have to worry about that at all. Other than that they are expensive and you spend a lot of time adjusting them properly.

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt 7 днів тому

      I would stick with the injectors you have I have heard some comments of people with the newer ECM like yourself where it will run rich I believe the newer ECM doesn't have enough tolerance built into it to compensate for the extra fuel that these injectors could deliver. If you had a modified engine with bolt ons like the 08 cams, intake manifold, larger throttle body, free flow exhaust then the denso injectors would probably work well.

    Martin, your bumper is beyond belief! My question is did you tie into the nutstrips or just the four bolts on the OEM brackets? Anything else tied in on the unibody anywhere else? What are your thoughts on the strengths of only using the 4 bolts? I just installed a Shittybilt. I also installed a set of Ironman 4x4 Fab SRBs. I was thinking ahead. If you install the Genrite Fuel Cell and Skid plate, they're going to have to be installed last. So I put the SRBs first and the cut out sections of the Shittybilt Bumper Brackets and only used the very last nutstrip bolt. There's no way to really use them all together unless you bury the skid plate and fuel cell. You'd have to remove the bumper brackets and the SRBs just to replace a fuel pump!!! Also I noticed that you reveresed the JKS shackles? What hole did you use on the SRB? Are you using the factory hole on the front leaf spring eye? I have the Ironman 4x4 Fab front brackets that have 4 holes. I'm using the hole closest to OEM...

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt 11 днів тому

      It was an existing tire carrier that I used the metal went down inside the unibody frame and attached to existing holes that were in the unibody. and then the rear quarters of the bumper are also tied to the body. Yeah sometimes you goyt to plan ahead and one project should be done before the other. Thank you for watching 🙂

    People with Volkswagen have many spare locations in the fuse blocks. Use what you already have, instead of buying a new parts. You'll probably need relays but that is easy.

    Nicely done video. Odd thing is, the poorly drawn directions on my kit say the snap ring goes on last 🤔 I mean ultimately, I'll see in what order mine were installed, but there was a fella in another video who was very adamant that the solid black plastic ring should be above the snap ring, because he also found his snap ring in the second position, as you did.... I didn't finish the video, because it was long and drawn out 😂 so maybe he changed his tune by the end, I dunno.

    Thank you Martin for all your helpful and interesting videos. I'm just putting new timing chains in my 2004 Dakota. When i put the camshaft chains on, the two black links are not exactly center in the slot windows. I really can move the one tooth back or forth. they end up either on one end of the slot or the other. What do you recommend? thank you
